[ teyvat has changed, over time.
it's still just as beautiful, of course, though much of the color had left the world when he had died. lumine has all but lost track of the years in his absence. centuries later, and her heart still aches. for all the lovers she had taken over her long, long life, lumine had never once fallen in love, not until him, not until he wriggled his way past her defenses and straight into her heart. they say that time heals all wounds, and yet this one still lingers, raw and aching, an old scar that never healed properly.
he broke his promise. she'll never forgive him for it.
liyue is as bustling as it has ever been, the city beautiful and alive. she had avoided it for some time after his death, for all that it had reminded her of him, but if she is honest, everything reminds her of him, and liyue is filled with friends she couldn't bear to part with. zhongli, xiao, ganyu, yanfei - they remain, ageless as herself, and she finds comfort in their presence. still, when she walks these streets she sees echoes of him everywhere.

lumine sighs, and steps into the coffee shop. it's a newer establishment, comparatively, but the drinks are excellent, and she stops by every morning to pick up drinks for herself and her brother, at least when they're in liyue. they've been lingering here for a few months, now.
the scent of coffee surrounds her like a warm blanket when lumine steps inside, though she's distracted by her phone, texting aether that she's running late. without glancing up, she places her order. ]

[ it is not often that lumine wakes so.. comfortably.
with how often she travels, she spends a great deal of time sleeping on grass or warm stone, even out in the rain beneath a tree. if a bed is available she'll surely take it, but being on the road means there is not always an inn placed conveniently nearby, and she must make use of what is available. of course, she certainly doesn't mind it; she's quite used to it. it just means that the days she does have a bed are quite nice, and welcome.. most especially when she is sharing that bed with two of her very favorite people in teyvat.
morning dawns in liyue, warm golden light slants through the gauzy curtains that catch in the sea breeze, and as the light strikes her closed eyelids, lumine stirs.
exhaling a soft, pliant noise, lumine shifts beneath the blankets. normally she is an early riser, and quite alert the moment she opens her eyes, but they were up very late the night before, drinking and talking and thoroughly enjoying one another's company. her eyelids feel heavy. yet after her long stay in inazuma, being here with the two of them feels like coming home. she sees both of them separately often enough, but the three of them together in one place for longer than a single night is quite the uncommon pleasure. yet ahead of them spreads two full weeks that they can spend in each other's companies, while lumine waits for passage to sumeru, and childe ponders his next assignment. zhongli, of course, is always here in liyue, patiently waiting for their return.
their legs are all a warm tangle, and the three of them together are an endless canvas of warm, naked skin, one of her arms flung across zhongli's chest, the opposite hand tangled up with childe's, fingers entwined. a sleepy smile curves her mouth as lumine shifts onto her back, pressing a kiss to zhongli's shoulder before her hand looses from childe's to sift through his wild ginger bedhead. her time in teyvat may be bittersweet in many ways, but right now, here, warm in this place, surrounded by the people she loves.. lumine cannot imagine a happier moment. her voice is thick and rough with sleep when she speaks. ]
